Hi.

Welcome to my blog where I document my adventures in Kansas City!

Winter Bucket List

Winter Bucket List

I am suffering from a case of the post-Christmas blues. I can deal with the cold and snow as long as Christmas is in sight, but the minute the clock strikes midnight on New Years Day, all I want is winter to be over. I am hoping to bypass my winter slump, but checking off these bucket list items one by one over the next couple months. Keep reading if you need some inspiration as well!

  1. See a concert at The Liberty in Lawrence: Kinda cheating because I already am planning on seeing Colter Wall here in January, but I love seeing concerts in LFK. Feels like a mini vacation!

  2. Kansas City Restaurant Week: because, duh. Stay tuned for the procrastinator’s guide to KCRW - coming later this week!

  3. Ice Skating at Crown Center: Call me basic, but I love going to Crown Center every year to ice skate and even at the ripe, old age of 26, I plan to continue the tradition!

  4. WWI Museum: We all know the Liberty Memorial has some of the best views of KC, but it has been years since I have explored the museum down below. Perfect place to spend a winter day in the warmth.

  5. Laser Show at the Planetarium in Union Station: I have been DYING to go see one of these since I first heard about them. Essentially, they play the best of (fill in the blank band) and set the entire show to lasers. I already bought my tickets to the Queen show because Freddie Mercury is everything.

  6. Rieger Distillery: I am probably the only person in Kansas City who hasn’t gone down the slide here, so hoping to change that in 2020.

  7. Knuckleheads Concert: Truly my favorite venue in Kansas City - I would see literally any show here. During the winter months, the shows are inside so don’t worry about freezing your tail off.

  8. Go to a KC Mavericks Game: Hockey is my favorite sport to watch - especially live! There’s something about grown men fighting on skates that really gets me pumped. Will definitely be seeing a couple games this winter!

  9. Sweat Lab KC: It is January after all, so I had to include the newest KC workout I have been DYING to try. It’s like a mini workout class inside of a sauna and lord knows I could use some time in a sauna to sweat out all my holiday sins.

  10. See a Musical: Come From Away is showing downtown, and it’s supposed to be AMAZING! It’s a story about a positive situation to come out of 9/11 - hard to believe, I know, but it will warm your heart.

  11. Rodeo at the Sprint Center: I have been going to rodeos since before I could walk - shout out American Royal! It’s such a fun way to spend a day inside and out of the cold.

  12. KC Improv: Another thing that’s been on bucket lists of times past - KC Improv. I love comedy shows, and this one is supposed to be one of the best in the area!

What else are you doing to kick the post-Christmas blues? Let me know what I should add to this list in the comments or on Instagram!
