Hi.

Welcome to my blog where I document my adventures in Kansas City!

Weekend in Parkville

Weekend in Parkville

Spring has sprung in Kansas City (at least for now!), and that always has be craving a mini getaway. Parkville, MO is my go to when I want to “get away” but stay close to home. A little stay-cation moment, if you will! This Saturday (April 30, 2022) from 1pm - 5pm is the Parkville Microbrew Festival and there will be 300+ beers to sample! Tickets are $45 in advance and $55 at the door (pending availability). Get your tickets here.

I put together my dream itinerary to make a whole weekend out of this event!

Saturday

10am: Arrive in Parkville and head immediately to Incahoots for coffee and a donut. This darling coffee shop is in the cutest little venue with a train car on the landing. Perfect spot to game plan for the rest of your day!

11am: Go to my favorite home store in all of Kansas City, Samsara! You will literally want to buy everything you see, so don’t say I didn’t warn you. The owners are about the nicest people in the world, so be sure to say hi to them when you stop by!

12pm: With one hour until go time, you better get some sustenance. Stone Canyon Pizza is the perfect place to carb load before your big day of drinking! The pizza is divine, but my personal favorite is the chicken salad wrap. You really can’t go wrong here!

1pm: Head to English Landing Park for the Parkville Microbrew Festival! There are more than 70 breweries with beer options for you to sample until 5pm.

5pm: You will likely need some food by now, so you have a couple options! My favorites are Café Des Amis (French food) or Frank’s Italian Restaurant on Mainstreet. Riverpark Pub and Eatery is also a great choice! You really can’t go wrong with any of the food options in Parkville.

7pm: If you are ready to relax a little bit before bed, check into your lodging. Parkville has a few charming options here or you can check AirBNB here! If you aren’t ready to head “home” just yet, Parkville Mini Golf is open until 8pm on Saturday so you can get a quick round of putt-putt in!

Sunday

9am: Chances are you have a bit of a headache this morning, so head immediately to Parkville Coffee on Main Street for coffee and a breakfast sandwich. I have had this exact combo from PC hungover before and it brought me back to life!

10am: Sweat out the beer from yesterday at Sullivan Nature Sanctuary with a little hike before heading home! (Plus, it’s morel season so keep your eyes peeled for those little gems!).

What did I miss? Where else do you love to go in Parkville, MO?
