The Coziest Hotel in St. Louis: My Stay at The Cheshire

I recently got the chance to visit The Cheshire in St. Louis, and let me tell you, it's not your average hotel stay. The décor here makes you wonder if you took a quick flight to England for a weekend getaway!

Walking into The Cheshire felt like a stroll through history. This spot has always been an iconic St. Louis hotel, and you can sense the stories in every nook and cranny. They've jazzed it up a bit since then, keeping the vintage vibes but throwing in all the modern comforts. This is any antique lover's dream hotel!

My room was like a nest of comfort – stylish and cozy, with all the bells and whistles. The staff were beyond kind, making sure I had everything I needed. The rooms are all named after English poets and authors and I was lucky enough to stay in the Beatrix Potter/Emma Thompson room dubbed "The Peter Rabbit Suite." Upon check-in, I was even gifted a Peter Rabbit book as a keepsake! The attention to detail at The Cheshire is truly unmatched. During the holidays, there are several rooms decorated for Christmas so be sure to book one of those before the end of the year!

Now, let's talk about food. The Cheshire has not one but two spots to enjoy some of the best food in St. Lous. We ate dinner at Fox and Hounds and felt like we were dining in an English pub. The décor is on point and the food was delicious! We indulged in some fish and chips, shepherd's pie, and my favorite Smithwick's beer. We decided to get some dessert at their Italian concept, Basso, and it was amazing! It was packed on a Friday night and I can see why. I basically ate my way through both, and no regrets here.

Lucky for me, I stayed at The Cheshire during the holiday season. This place goes all out with Christmas decorations and events. Lights everywhere, Christmas events like caroling in the lobby and tea with Santa, and a Christmas tree in the lobby that could give Rockefeller Center a run for its money. It made my stay extra special and immediately put me in the holiday spirit!

Leaving The Cheshire felt like saying goodbye to a new friend. The mix of history, modern amenities, and holiday cheer made it a standout spot. Whether you're into history, love to eat, or just want a festive escape, The Cheshire is the real deal. My time there was more than a hotel stay; it was an experience, and one that I'll be raving about to anyone who will listen. Until next time, Cheshire – you're a gem!
